UXH Mixology #9: Crisp documents, messy meetings
In this edition: Ola's Krutrim AI platform, Figma redesign and the Jeff Bezos interview
Hello there!
As many of you head into your year end breaks, its that time of the week to do a quick catch-up on the happenings in tech, products & design.
Plus updates on our Zomato challenge, our new challenge on Figma and yes, new jobs
🌏 Product & Design News:
OLA launches its own AI platform called ‘Krutrim’
Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal took to the stage in Bengaluru to introduce India’s own AI model called Krutrim.
According to him, the new AI model will be capable of understanding the Indian context better, compared to AI models trained mostly on Western data.
It does feel like an early preview for now: the site has a rather clunky looking ‘Join the Waitlist’ flow.
That said, an Indian AI model is very much needed, so here’s wishing Krutrim and the team all the best 🇮🇳 👍🏻
YouTube will have fewer ad breaks on TV — but the ads are getting longer
Youtube is getting this close 🤌🏻 to becoming irritating with its ads on TV. Pretty sure people not on Premium are also this close 🤌🏻 to opting in.
Either way, we are thankful that Brave (and others) exist.

What Akshay will be watching this week 👀
One thing that has caught my eye this week, and seems like worth spending some time watching, is a Jeff Bezos interview with Lex Fridman.
He goes into great detail on a number of topics, including Blue Origin, his relationship (or rather lack of) with Musk, productivity and much more.
However, the part that got me most interested, in this 2hr+ conversation, is on how meetings are conducted at Amazon and the famous 6 pager doc.
Jeff says: "I like a crisp document and a messy meeting. The document should be written with such clarity that it's like angels signing from up high."
Ok Jeff, you have my attention!
That’s all for this week then.
Hope you are getting ready or are already on your year end trip. Or maybe you are just planning to chill at home as 2023 comes to an end.
Wherever you are, wishing you a great weekend ahead.
We’ll see you soon. Byeeee! 👋🏻
