Ok, not a brilliant segue.. but we’ll run with it.

Google’s Mojo Moment
For a while now, Google felt like a sleeping dragon.
Cool tech? Sure. Smart people? Of course. But exciting? Not really.
The company that gave us Gmail, Google Maps and Android, was suddenly being out-Googled—by OpenAI, Microsoft, even Meta.
Gemini’s earlier versions? Mid. Bard? Who? Somewhere along the way, it stopped being fun to root for Google.
But recently, something changed: Google I/O 2025 happened.
And suddenly… it felt like the magic was back. Some notable highlights:
🛍️ Shopping + Try-on with AI: that might just change online retail
🎥 Flow: a AI filmmaking tool custom-designed for Google’s most advanced models
💬 Jules: a new kind of AI coding agent, trained to be not just helpful, but human
📒NotebookLM app which can be a fantastic companion for research, especially given improvements to audio (and with video summaries coming soon)
It’s not just us who noticed.

So, is Google back?
Maybe it never left.
But this time, it's playing offence.
PS: Google has a reputation of launching a bunch of products and then, pretty soon, killing them. Especially B2C products. Let’s see if this time it’s different
Btw Google put up a blog post of 100 notable things it announced/launched at the Google I/O event. Worth a dekho for sure

What Akshay is doing: Running 🏃🏼
No, I’m not planning on running a marathon: did a half marathon once, with a time of 1h53min, and for me that was it.
This time it’s more about consistency, building stamina and some discipline.
So the focus is more on endurance (distance), and maybe later, time. Presently doing 3/4/5km runs at the brilliant Borivali National Park
The goal, for now: to get back to fitness and endurance levels of 2020, just before Covid struck (that’s a whole 5 years ago)
